Recommendations

Direct sowing (recommended) – Prepare a weed-free spot in your garden or a flowerbed. Spread the seeds from your envelope evenly over the soil surface. Lightly rake the seeds and gently tamp them into the soil to ensure good seed-to-soil contact. Seeds should be no deeper than 1/8 inch. Water. Keep the area moist to facilitate germination.
Planting periods: Plant in late spring, early summer, or late fall. For fall sowing, wait until soil temperatures are too cold for seed germination (below 40ºF/4.4ºC).
  • Days to Germination: 10-28 days at 65-75°F (18-24°C)
  • Light Preference: Full sun
  • Flower Height: 4-48″ Plant height varies by species.
  • Soil Requirements: Average, well-drained soil.
