My lilac lemonade

During U-pick days and parties with friends and family, I love creating unique and different punches.

Hosting large gatherings at my home is truly a source of joy and an opportunity to share and see my guests smile.

My lilac lemonade is particularly appreciated by both adults and children.

It's super simple to make and will be a wonderful surprise for your guests!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups freshly picked lilacs (more lilacs if you want a more pronounced and spicy lilac taste)
  • Juice of 8 fresh lemons or 2 cans of frozen yellow lemonade concentrate
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 sliced lemon and 1 sliced orange for garnish
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 can of grapefruit-flavored sparkling water
  • Red & blue food coloring to make the lemonade a beautiful purple (optional)
  • – You can add gin or sparkling wine to create an alcoholic lemonade –

Instructions

  • Pick fresh lilac flowers, making sure they haven't been treated with chemicals or pesticides. Choose flowers that are at their peak, but avoid those that are wilted.
  • Gently rinse the lilac flowers under cold water to remove any dirt or insects.
  • Carefully remove the lilac florets from their stems into your container.
    • Start by preparing the lilac simple syrup.
      • Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a small saucepan and bring to a low boil.
      • Reduce to low heat and simmer until the syrup has reduced by half, stirring every 2-3 minutes.
Once reduced, turn off the heat, add the lilac flowers and stir.
    • Cover and let sit for an hour to cool (the longer your syrup sits, the more intense the lilac flavor!). Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a small bowl.
    • Add all other ingredients.
    • Add lilac flowers for decoration 😉
    • Impress your guests and take photos of your beautiful lilac lemonade!!!!
