Planting peonies at home
Growing peonies is truly within everyone's reach and doesn't require you to have a green thumb like your Aunt Carole! A good quality peony root, planted at the right time and in the right conditions, will provide you with abundant flowers for years. It is said that a peony even outlives its gardener. Planting a peony at home means having beautiful, abundant flowers, and there are thousands of colors to choose from.
Peonies are in root form, not bulbs.
They are generally planted in the fall. You should plant your peony before the first ground frost. September and October are ideal months to do this.
Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Peonies don't like to have their "feet in the water"! Peonies love snow, which acts as a true protector. Make sure to choose a location where there will be enough snow in the winter. Some peonies can live up to 80 years, and it's best not to move them often. Make sure to choose a prime location for them!

Order your favorite peonies now. You will receive them by mail in the fall with planting instructions. You will get beautiful flowers the following summer.
